Temporary closing of A1001 South Way and A1000 Great North Road

Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

  1. that length of A1001 South Way, Hatfield from its junction with the Travellers Lane roundabout north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with A1000 Great North Road, a distance of approximately 455m.

An alternative route will be via A1001 (South Way/Roehyde Way/Comet Way), A414 (Great North Road/Hertford Road) and A1000 (Hertford Road/Great North Road)

or via A1000 (Great North Road/Hertford Road), A414 (Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane/Great North Road) and A1001 (Comet Way/Roehyde Way/South Way).

  1. that length of A1000 Great North Road, Hatfield from a point 810m north west of its junction with the Dixons Hill Road roundabout north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 402m.

An alternative route will be via A1000 (Great North Road/Hertford Road), A414 (Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane/Great North Road) and A1001 (Comet Way/Roehyde Way/ South Way).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
