Oak processionary moth (OPM) is an invasive species introduced into England in 2005. It has since become established in London and is now spreading into surrounding counties. OPM is found almost exclusively on oak.

An outbreak of OPM was recently confirmed in a playground belonging to North Mymms Parish Council(NMPC)  in Welham Green.

The council responded immediately and the nest was removed.
